This is one of the most unusual photographs ever taken of the collision in midair of two aeroplanes. The picture, made near London, shows the wings of the machines interlocked. The aeroplanes felt several hundred feet, and the pilots were seriously injured.

This photograph was taken 206 miles out of Nome, Alaska, near Candle, the northernmost point of civilization.
