(BY THROWN OUT")

I did not expect the Services team to beat the visitors but I expected them to put up a better show in the batting line. They started fairly well, but their tail was pathetic. With 5 wickets down for 104, they ought to have been good for a great many more than 126.

The later botomen seemed to funk Wilson and when he got to the other and they fell an easy victim to Billings who looked elow in the air but came off the ground quickly with an off break. Most of the batsmen seemed too late in playing him, and misbits were the result Billings' average of û for 25 speaks for itself. Truly this visit has been a series of triumphs for the Shanghai Captain.

.

Le Flaming was uúlusky to be run out and it is just possible that bad this disaster not occurred, his side might have been in a much better position at tiffin-time. He was shaping well at the time and his contribution was

the best on his side.

Davies had bis usual merry innings which unfortunately and to the dia appointment of the spectators only lasted a few minutes. If he steadies up to day, he and Olliver should save an innings defeat. Nous of the others deserve mention for their performance

with the bat.

not get his century as le locked as if be could stay in all day. Leach came off again with exactly the same núm. ber of runs as in the interport and a vory similar innings.

Poor Clifford, I think the ecclesins tical honours are too much for him, his wicket was encrificed. He could sot ses for the bowler following but be was called and like the good sport he is, he ran. I think Leach made au error here, which at another time might be costly. Even if point is far out a short run hero is always dangerous and many a batsman has been thrown out from similar attempt to sneak a run,

B

Derke, I also think is unfortunate these days. He weat in when the batsmen had been merrily bitting poor bowling. He got are ball from Spinks

which be revelled in, then when he

came to the other end, the bowling was changed; Davies came on, sent down one of his extra special ex pressor, and Decks was ont.

It is being made more and more evident that we are no match for the visitors and that the team they have went down in an exceedingly strong one, Jast think-in batting Hayward Clifford and Divechs have done little, | Fot all are liable to make as many as Leach and have done it in previous ventures. In bowling their change bowling in se good as their best bowling, and in variety it quite over- shadows anything Hongkong can show. And their fielding, well I hope the varioas: Hongkong Clubs will take a lessen from the manner in

which the field kept down runs in Hongkong's first ventura. In fact they might reasonably claim that fielding won the interport.
