Evolutionists believe that mon arote from the basic stock that pro- duced the apes. The ancestry of birds (writes Lee S. Crandlalt, Curator of Birds at New York Zoological Park in the Nw York Herald) can be re- traced still further to none other thon the lowly reptile. Fossil birds, to

which we must look for our evidenco. are almost as ararce as fossil men.

In spite of their relative scarcity, and the miracle of chance by which they must be found a few bird fossila are known. From the Cretaceous rocks of western Kansas, the age of which is believed to be from six to seven million years, we have two ancient creatures, obviously birds, pet undeniably of reptilian affinities.
