A Chinese boy was charged before Magistrate Wood this morning with having stolen a bundle of Becks, the property of his uncle, a shopkeeper of No. 33, Queen's Road West.

The Chinese.constable who arrested the defendant said that the latter told him the socks had been sent to him by his father

who lives in Australia..

Inspector Appleton said that the defendant was given free board and lodging by his uncle, and in spite of this, he was ungrateful enough to rob him.

Defendant now admitted theft of the socks and said he was sorry. The
