LLOYD'S REGISTER ANNUAL REPORT.

LONDON, October 31.

The anual report of Lloyd's register shows that new tonnage classed by the Society during the year ending June 30 decreased 25 per cent. compared with the same, period in 1919-1920. Following a great decrease in new orders during 1920 and 1921 there has been such exted sive relations in the plans submitted to the Society in recent months as to indicate an unprecedented slurap. In new tonnage 112 oil tanker were built during 1920-21 equal to 18 per cent. of the total tonnage, while 353 new ships, or 38 per cent. were fitted with oil burning boiles. For the first time in the Society's history more oil burners than coal burners were ult.
