CHILDREN'S CORNER.
My dear Children,
Of course you all know about Lucy Lockett losing her pocket but I wonder if you have ever thought why it was that she found a ribbon round it and no peany in it?
In case you do not know, the story of "The Lost Pocket" I will tell you,
Your loving,
PETER PAN.
THE LOST POCKET.
You all know that.
.
"Lucy Lockett lost her pocket. Kitty Fisher found it. There was not a penny in it But a ribbon round it." Lucy Lockett had just had her fifth birthday. Her mother had made her a new piak frock to wear and as Lucy had asked specially to have a pocket she had machined a little one on to it.
Lucy's father had given ber a shining new penny (as well as a beautiful curly haired doll) and she had put the money carefully in her pocket with a hankie on the top of it so that she would be sure not to lose it.
But accidents will happen some times. That afternoon there was a party. Lots of children came in their best frocks and they had tea with hundreds of thousands" on the bread and butter and sugar cakes

That is how it was that Lucy found the blue ribbon round her pocket.
She wore it as a hair ribbon and always, when she had it on, nice things happened and she was par ticularly happy. This was because it was a fairy ribbon although of course she did not know that

Lord Inchcape contributes to the current number of Sperling's Journal-a powerful article on "Our Export Trade and its Meaning," We, of all people, he says, can least afford to waste our resources and energies in squabbling among ourselves.
