RECONDITIONING THE LEVIATHAN.

New York mail advices say -The bids for the conversion and recordi tioning of the Leviathan will be opened on May 15th. The plans and specifications for the job,, draws up by a corps of experts, with Mr. W. F. Gibbs, chief of the construction department of the International Mercantile Marine Company, direc ting the work, have been declared to be the most complete and remarkable aver compiled. The specifications, divided into eleven sub-sections, were bound into a volume about two inches thick. More than twenty blue prints, showing all features of the ship, were included.

At the direction of the Shipping Board the plans and specifications were sent to the New York Shipbuild- ing Company, the Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company,
