LONDON, April 10. The Sunday Times says that prior to Lloyd George's departure the Cabinet hurriedly met and drafted a reply to the French note. The reply la described as less harsh in tore than the first note.

Belore Mr. K. O. Hutchison, at the Magistracy, this morning, Messrs. W. & Loxley & Co, summoned Messrs. Wah Loong & Co., for infringing on their "star" trade. mark, in connection with certain cotton pisce goods sold by the defendant firm-----

Mr. F.B.L. Bowley appeared for the complainant firm, whilst Mr. M. K Lo was retained for the defendants, who were represented by their manager.

Mr. Bowley said he would like the defendant to be informed as to the nature of the charge against him, i and asked to say whether or not he would like to be tried; and then his Worship could fix a date for the hearing of the evidence. -

Mr. Lo objected, and said he would prefer that his client be asked to plead at the next bearing. He had come to Court that morning to apply for a formal remand, and as he had not anticipated such a request from
