Perhaps it was the darkness of the day that made so tew people outside the House aware of this extraordi nary and historic thing that was hap pening inside.
There were no great crowds as sembled beyond the gates, where in old days, before the waffI saw many tumultuous crowds-stirred like a living cauldron by mounted and foot police waiting to see some women trying to store those gates, and trying by violence, or strategy, or stealth, to get inside the precincts of Parliament,
