HIGH WAGES AND SCHOOLS.
The number of children going to secondary schools has increased by five times since the beginning of the war, said Mr. Fisher in the House of Commons. This shows that the workinge lasses are, with their better wages, giving their children better education. The average increase of 37 per cent. in teachers' salaries, he said, is not sufficient, Laving regard
to the cost of living.
