JUNG'E THRILLS IN PAUL A LABOUR LEADER WHO

INEY'S NEWEST

PICTURES.

En Charles S. Hart, the Ex for of Motion Pictures in the d States Division of Films, gned from his office and became director of commercial moving pictures, the first motion picture he picked out in putting forth his new Institution was Paul J. Rainey's Heart of the Jungle." This picture will be shown here on Wednesday at The Coronet..

Mr. Hart chose this picture because he felt that men and women stil wanted thrills of water, the thrills of adventure and of travel. Paul J. Rainey's films of a lion charging at fifteen yards at a camera man, of giraffes and other wild beasts of the jungle drinking at a water hole. of the beasts of darkest Africa in their native habitat, combines in it all the thrills that the most imaginative school boy of fourteen could wish for And while Paul J. Rainey is an in- trepid adventurer he is at the same time a well-known geographer, a Fellow of the American Geographic Society. School children especially find heightened within them a sense of the greatness of the world, a szimulation to learning.

The man who is trying to resign FALSE ACCUSATION AGAINST the secretaryship of the General Federation of Trade Unions is a victim of the infinite perplexities of peace. William Archibald Appleton will keep his sixtieth birthday on the fast day of this year, so he is far from being an old man. But just at present he is very tired. "I am anxious and worried," he said recently, "and anxiety and worry have brought me to a condition of ill health that makes a rest necessary. Having come to an end of the labours which war imposes, the tasks of Peace are proving even more con- siderable, and for the time he is worn out.

Mr. Witchell was asked to-day if he saw any bottles used and he said he did not. This, with our reporter's evidence, is enough to establish the falsity of the charge.

PICTURES THAT ARE DIFFERENT.

It is the mission of modern Cinematography to INTEREST and INSTRUCT as well as to AMUSE.

The following is a Programme that drew Crowded houses in both New York & Chicago.·

1. THE REAL ROOSEVELT. A film that should appeal to Britons the world over as leading to a clearer understanding of the Great Mao who told as of our shortcomings so frankly in his Famous Guildhall speech and who stood up so fearlessly our friend when things were at their worst in 1915.

2. RAINEYS "HEART OF THE JUNGLE” Four wonderful redis Among the Wild Eegate in Darkest Africa. Lions that within a few yards of the Camera, Lion vs. Dog: Elephants, Zebras, Giraffes and.. Hippopotami, in their native haunts, ignorant of the close proximity of the man with the Camera.

3. CONEY ISLAND. A joyous ten minutes on New York's favourite play ground. A film that for sheer life & vivacity has never been beaten.
