Lesnes, Sugat 29.
The General Staff gunoubers that the German chint to have assaulted Brestlitovsk is not exact. The facts are that the Russians had long previously decided that it would he inoxpedient, to shut up a garrison of 100,000 men, und consequently all valuable material was removed in good time. The forts in the left bank of the Bug alone resisted in order to allow the Russian snuies to relive inward, and when this movement lad been effected the fortifications and bridges were lestroyed, and the garrisons of these forts rejoined the artes in the field. Thus the Germans got no honey.
