THE BATTLE OF GORIZIA.

The battle of Gorizia is of first-class importance, though it is apt to be overlooked owing to the Russian battles, but it is tremendously in tense and sanguinary. The battle raged furiously all yesterlag at the bridgehead at Gorizia. The Italians by evening had captured the com- handing height of Monte-san-Michele seuthward of the city. The Austrian coinmuniqu claims that Major-General Boug retook the height with his reverse, but admits that the Austrians are resisting the Italian forces with difficulty in the adjoining bills. Reater's Amsterdam correspondeat telegraphs that the terrific battle for Warsaw still aways indecisively, but a Berlin communique shows that the Russians are making important counter-attacks from the Narew fortress lige and says that the Russians have been hastily reinforced.
