The death is sanounced of the Rt. Hon. Jaimes Stuart, M.A, IL. D., whu was made a Privy Councillor in 1909. He was a Fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge, since 1867, and wer an as- sociate member of the Institution of Civil Engineers.

Colman, Ltd., Norwich, since 1908, He was born in Scotland in 1843, and married in 1390 the eldest daughter of the late Mr. J. I. Colman, of Carros House, Norwich. He was educated privately at St. Andrews and Cam- bridge Universities, and later held several university eppointments. Ha was Lord Rector of St. Andrew's Uni varsity from 1898 to 1901, and had represented Hoxton (Shoreditch), Hackney, and Sunderland in the Liberal interest in Parliament." He was the author of several works, -
