A meeting called by the Athletics Ad visory Club, at which Lord Deaborough presided, was held at the Manchester Hotel un August 1 to discuss the causes of England's failures at the Olympic Games at. Stockholm, and, above all, to find out if 51 posilile how we may do better at the next tapi Games in 1916 at Berlin. The
Lord Desborough said that £0.000 a year for the next three years, with £10,000 for the fourth year would be needed. Mr de Courcy Laffan said he thought £3,000 at least, and for athletics alone, would be necessary, and a later speaker gave it a his opinion that this amount would not be nearly enough.
