"The last the he was taken before the court, he was informed a telegram had buon received from Bangkok signed by several hundred people there who vuched for him. He was given to understand that the officials were entixhed bo, was a rich man from Bangkok and on complying with certain demands he was ultimately released on February 18 last. The arpediting of his rolesse was of cause only by convincing those who required it that he really was a rich man from Bangkok. After recuperat ing for a month at his home near Too Yoo, Hah Mee Soon returned to Bangkok, where he was interviewed. When asked if he had made any complaint to the Chinese Buthorities, Dinh Mee Soon smilingly replied that it would only involve explan ing to many more that he was rich man from Bangkok, and the redress he was likely to obtain was not worth what it might cost to get it."
