AFGHAN'S ATTITUDE.
Disquieting Government
Reticence.
(Brabice Servico, supplied by Beuter, via Bombay)
LONDON, May 7. The reassuring statements in regard to the correctness of the attitude of the
Ameer of Afghanistan in connection with
the trouble with the Mohmands on the Nord test frontier of India have been somewhat discounted by the reticent demeanour of the Government when asked some dirent and highly pertinent questions.
In the House of Coramons Mr H. F. B. Lynch, merüber for the Ripon Division of the West Riding, Yorkshire, asked whether, in view of the developigentsi on the frontier, the Government would las before the House any correspondence with the Ameer in convection with the recently signed Auglo-Russian Conven- tian.
Mr Lynch Ipo desired to know whether, before any military operations ware undertaken in Afghan territory, the House would be informed of the views of the Ameer in regard to any difference of opinion with the Indian Government.
