Over-trading, abnormal conditions resulting from the war in Manchuria, bigb exchange, an ill-regulated copper carronoy and inclement weather all contributed to brand 1906 as an unsuccessful year, which would have been handed down to history, La disastrous had not foreign banka onsed the strain by wisely continuing credits to holders of unmarketable stocks. Although it is unwise to predict the futore, the outlook for 1907 is not so bright as might be desired. He adds: With the exception of a faint echo on the Weat River, where Australian flour now finds a ready market, the boycott of American gouda has ceased to be a weapon of any value, and the campaign may be said to have come to an 2021 inglorious end.
