Billiards.
A lange and enthusiastic crowd sesembled int night at the Hongkong Hotel to witsoss the final match betweni Sergeant Pill, of the Epngkong Folien, the local amateur champion, and Mr Melvin, of Quarry Bay. At the outact it was obvious that Sergeant Pitt was the superior players but Mr Melvin mady some excellent, shots, for which he was applaude! Sergeant Pill played a very stondy game all through and exhibited a good many of his masterly whats. He finished his score of 250 while Mr Melvin's stood at 85. Mr Hingues, the poptiar Manager of the Hotel, presented the winner witha very handsome cup. Most cups are presented empty-this one was an exception, brimming with H Price and Col's."King Edward" whisky, Sergeant Plit also accured the prize for the highest break,

NANNING, April 16, It was not till the 17th of last month that Nunning was formally opencă ne a Fort. The Commissioner and his staff were mot by the Officials in their state robes; refreshments were provided, and and salutes, the dofing of hats and the firing of crackers the flag was ceremonially bolted on the staff.
