THE YARN MARKET.

More Phirozsha B. Polit and Company report:---Our last report was dated the 16th inst the 'ere of the termination of the second of the concessions granted to dealors by importer whereby sales on the part of the latter were absolutely suspended for the thras munthe previously. As predicted, apon the re-opening of the warket on the morning of the 18th inst. brokers displayed unwanted activity on behalf of constituenta -the impurture-almost all of whom ħad placed instructions with their intermediation with a view of quitting their holdings. With a knowledge of the depleted con- | dition of the purses of most dealers, importers, though eager sollers, would only sell to frus of substantial means capable of taking immodiste delivery so as to enable the maximum advantage to be. taken of the comparatively higher exchangé ruling at the moment. Under the circumst ance and with limitations placed upon the brokers, it is conceivable that sales reported ure practically nit.

The anticipation of a brisk-demand upvo resumption of business bas, unfortunately, not been realized owing to the continusnice of harvest operations in some of the cen saming districts and the failure of the rice:

in others. Businean bas alea been erop checked the the conspicuus a Bence of yarn speculatura. The only operators at present are genuine buyers from whom the element of speculation is wholly eliminated.

Since the iesat af our circular of 24th August -lant

last prices shows heavy decline. In No. 108, the quotation has receded from $12 to 818 par baly, while in No. 20. the drop has been one of from 8 to 812. The reported safe are contined to selected shreads only.

In the alisence of any actual transaction it is difioult to establish absolutely accurate of various threads; those stated quotations of in this circular must be considered more ur loss nominal, since no husiness has taken placed at the respective figures mentioned.

In our opinion there appears to be no local factor bringing about..

material ameliore

in the

market caused by the severe reverses to practically all the leading para merchants in the Colony. Bombay aan, however, come to local dealer's sivation if only mill-owers will arrive at a work short time common understanding to and, consequently, considerably reduce sprind of their combined output for, say, a period of at least six months when the glatted condition of the China market will have bad time to absorb the major portion of the over supply wherewith it has been surfeited as a result of the over speculation that bra boen indulged in for some time. With a ourtallment of supply from India there be soms hope of prices regaining former

bigh level when the worst of the crisis is tided over

"A member of our family periodically suffered for nearly years from dry eczema on the hands. The fingers and palms split and cracked everywhere st the slightest movement. At auch periods they were most painful na well ne quite useless, and gloves were always obliged to be war Every possible temedy was tried, besides medical advico, blood mixiures, ointment, soaps, etc., some of which gave slight relief for a time, but never permanently.
