Hundreds of other brave men died perhaps as heroically that day- the 31st of August -but in Tachibana the whole corps of cor respondents felt a more than special in- terest, This was by reason of kindness- extended to them by the gallant major in command of the First Battalion, 34th Regiment.

cortain in action and even in large doses is harmless. Laxatine being non-irrit- able will be found a great boon, to Indies especially, and in cases where the kidneys are, irritable or disented. Given every man in form the side is a formidable one, for the weakest. Cutter, has got his half-century in first-class cricket. There is no necessity to say any thing about Trumper, who is apparently in good health, Duff, Hill, Noble, and Armstrong. Gehrs is going for the first time. He is a fine batsman, full of cricket, and a capital field. Gregory, who is going for his sixth tine, is in good form, though not getting many runs. Still, he is worth playing for his felling alone, which is a remark W. G. Grace made în 1890. Ho.
