between Yarmouth and the Hook of Hol- land on Thursday with two Norwegian journalists and the mate of the ship Raoni inside it, was towed into Ymuiden early this morning by a fishing cutter. After the Ragni steamed away on Thursday the buoy drifted eastward, and yesterday ap pronched the Terschelling coast. Fearing that it would drift off again, the passengers decided to land, but ultimately changed their plans, and induced the cutter to tow them into Ymuiden.
This first trial has proved completely successful, the ball lying evenly on the waves, but with more persona to weight it would probably be steadier.
The three occupants of the Doenvig globe have arrived here. They deolars that they enjoyed their experience very much, and are iu the best of health, which, indeed, Anyone could see.
The only thing they missed during their forty-eight hours' confinement was freedom of movement, but they were highly pleased with the success of the trial. S
The globe affords room for sixteen per sons. It has since been
brought here, where it is now anchored, and excites the admiration of both seamen and ship
owners.

MOTHER
SEIGEL'S SYRUP
AIDS DIGESTION-CURES INDIGESTION.
Relish for food and power to digest it are essential to sound health, for only by the digestion and assimilation of food can lost or worn-out bodily tissue be replaced and life sustained. When digestion fails, as in dyspepsia or indigestion, both body and brain are starved, the patient becomes languid and weak, incapable of active, vigorous effort, or clear sustained thought. Headaches, loss of appetite, pains after eating, fulness at the chest, palpitation, anaemia and sleeplessness are but a few of the many disorders which have their origin in imperfect digestion and nutrition. Thirty drops of Mother Seigel's Syrup, taken daily alter meals, makes food nourish you. It gives tone and vitality to the stomach, liver and intestines, thus ensuring the thorough digestion and assimilation of food.
HAS CURED THOUSANDS.
"For three years I suffered greatly from biliousness and indigestion. When I sat down to table I could eat hardly anything. Attacks of vomiting made me quite weak, and I was surprised at the change it effected in my condition. On rising in the morning I was seized with dizziness, and had on several occasions to go back to bed again. I tried various remedies, but remained in quite the same condition. While at Cape Town, during the war, heard of the wonderful qualities of Mother Seigel's Syrup, and I decided to give it a trial: After the first bottle the dizziness and bilious feeling left me and I continued using the Syrup until 1 felt completely cured.-E. Petersen, Lower End, Main Street, Johannesburg. March 29th, 1904.
IT WILL HELP YOU.

The country is dusty and the seaside is baking. Rooms are frightfully expensive and the seaside landlady is perfectly irresponsible. If you turn crusty she can easily get a couple of guineas a week from one else, and she takes you with in. difference and your wife with condescen- sion, and your children hardly oven with toleration. Best of all is to stay at home and lazo. I am lazing so utterly that I do not caro eyen to rise and cross the room to 500 whether that verb is in the dictionary. It ought to be. The King is, as ever, at Cowes. (Query, why not Royal Cowes We say Royal Ascot and Royal Good wood, and royalty always has patronised Cowes.) Some of the City churches even are closing as if the devil went to the seaside. Perhaps he does, for I see that the Bexhill county council has been told that the bathing costumes of certain lady visitors make the fishes blush."

After remaining in the Cosmopolitan Dock for nearly a month the Russian cruiser Askold came out on the 12th. She was undocked just before high tide, and she started up river. Casualties at Liaoyang. The total casualties of the Japanese army in the fighting at Liaoyang for ten days are computed in Tokyo to amount to about 20,100 in killed and wounded, while the Russian casualties are estimated at about 40,00. It is pointed out that had the right wing of the Japanese army 'been enabled to attack the retreating Russians on the flank, the Russian losses would have beer far greater than they actually

It is necessary here to point out that in the original estimate a sum of 887,000 was entered twice by mistake. The original estimate should, therefore, be reduced by that sum and the real excess of the Revised Estimates is $142,083. The revised es- tianno of ordinary expenditure, thanks principally to the high rate of exchange that has prevailed throughout the year and to some economies, is less than the original estimate by $106,248.

A peculiar coincidence in connection with the robbery is that about six months ago the same establishment was visited by burglars, who were successful in extracting a considerable sum of money from the same safe. One that occasion, however, the thief was unable to open the inside drawers of the safe, and, after the robbery had beon discoveral, the outside locks were substitut by new ones. These seem to have given the burglars less trouble, for on this question the inside drawers wore also opened. The police have the matter in hand but, state

The estimate of ordinary the increaseя. expenditure for 1905 excords the revised estimate for the current year by $268,191. The principal items of increage are shown in a recapitulation of the estimates of expenditure, which I have just laid on the table and which may be of use to members. The Departments to which the principal nov appointments have been
added
are the Treasury. Botanics), Education, Medical, Police, and Sanitary Departments. The Estimated Ordinary Revenue for 1905 exceeds the Estirrated Ordinary Ex penditure by 81,338,719. Land sales are expected to realise $500,090, while Public Works Extraordinary are estimated at the largest figure in the history of the Calony-- 31,815,300, boing an estimated surplus of $23,419. These figures I think are very satisfactory. I may mention that it is just possible that some of the items of revenue may not be realised, and should such a con- ingency arise the Government will bring before the Council methods in which the gap may be filled.
