telegraphs an accraint of the affair of the 20ch instant, when the 4th Panjabis wore so heavily engaged with a land of robbers near Fung (or S-ring-fa). In con- sequence of the Appearance of the robber bands near Lan-chew, Major Browning was deapatched with 100 men of the 4th Panjabs Intantry. They encountered 1,030 man well armed, near Fu-ning. Besides Majo Browning and the one sepoy killed, Lioutonant Stenning and six sopoys wore wounded. The detachment fell back upon of the Eight heing received the remainder Radfort, was ordered out. The enemy of the 4th Punjab Infantry, under Colonel then retired to Th-teu ping. They were mostly anted men.
