The clerk of the weather was singularly Favourable to the Amoy Race Meeting this year. Two brillimit days and a mero thrantuning for the third was as much as the most sanguine could have licped for. The attendance was largo each day; alair percentage of strangers and a sprinkling of pretty dresses imparting the correct air of festivity to the scene. Rasing was goed throughout, and the fact that Hongkong and Funchow ponies were competing leat & further intecost to the proccerlings. For Hongkong, Torsin, Bercitchment and Thistic cach won a race, but with the neaption of Thidle nuns, went out for the Champions. Flyway takes the Stewards and the Fai Mutual Cups to Foochow, though he frated to carry his 7 lbs. penalty over the mile for the Compradores' Cup. Turning back to Amoy, Ace of Hearts and Ante ron woll for their stable, wearing five wins between them, dare being only beaten in the China pions, where no eno kregerried in getting upon terms with Hop, who won the three races he was sent out for in faultless style. Tuzandic was able to get the better of - Lon of Hearts by half a length in the Rucing

Stakes. This is a pony who should do well! en a course more suited to his strite. Jis stable companion Plu secured the Ladies Pure without an efore, though most people looked for the winter in Bit, who was not able to snatch second place from the speady. Turin. The purse was presented by Miss Mabel Saunders, who made a greafut liels speech, Mr Chuck Burkill, Polka's rider, ropiging in a few neatly-turned words. The race for the Champions was looked open more or less as a match between dee of Hearts and Hope, but Mape had always the best of it. winning by seven lengths and justifying his owner's opinion of hian. An extra race, one mile, was put in on the second day for acup presented by H.M.8. Argonaut, which brought out four starters, Åle of Hearte accuring Krst place. A little much- needed rain which fell previous to the mecting made good going. The attend. ance of Chinese was large and wore bothe were noticed than eml. The band of H.M.S.
