came out from Home, at the instance of the Colonial Office, with the avowed Coast purpose of setting the Supreme Court business in order, it is doubly dis- appointing that discordant elements have arisen to prevent this laudable object It is from being fully attained, generally believed that the now Re- gistrar has done much valuable work for the public since he took up the duties of his office; and the goneral public feeling will be that, in the event of Mr Gibbons being compelled to give up the contest, ho will be greatly missed. Probably be possesses less of the suaviter in medo than he exhibits of the fortiter in re; but as deeds and not words are the special fanction of a Registror, especially in a Court where bankruptcies occasionally stand over unsettled for fourteen or fifteen years, he has succeeded in getting through more work than has been generally disposed of within the Supreme Court during any one year.
