VIRICAL TREATMENT ¦—
l'aprietary medicines or drugs not contained in the British Pharmacopoeia will in riørged for if supplied by the Government, Private patients, other than Govern- put, Naval, Military, or Air Force patients, charged 1st or 2nd class daily rates for manurance, will be subject to the following additional charges :—
(1) For medical attendance, a charge at the rate of one third of the rate for
maintenance.
(2) For Surgical operations:
Major operations—$50 (minimum) to $600 (maximum) at the discretion of the Director of Medical Services.
Minor operations—$25 (minimum) to $100 (maximum) at the discretion of the Director of Medical Services.
This charge will be in addition to the above charge for medical atten-
dance.
(3) For normal maternity enses, charges of $200 and $100 respectively, in
lien of the above churge for medical attendance,
Patients requiring a "Special" nurse will pay un acklitional charge of $14 a day. The Director of Medical Services has discretionary power to waive the additional
Private patients in Government Hospitals (other than in the Maternity Wards at the Queen Mary and Kowloon Hospitals) will be attended by Government Medical
If in the case of a private patient charged 1st or 2nd class daily rates the Consult- Physician, Surgeon or Obstetrician is called in, either at the request of the patient By arrangement between the patient and the Medical Officer, the amount of the sultant's fee shall be a sum not exceeding $50.
Certificates:-(a) A charge of $10 is made for all certificates in connexion with the fitness or unfitness of patients or others to perform their duty and for invaliding certificates, and $10 for certificates required by insurance companies.
(6) Except where certificates are issued free maler the provisions of the Vaccination Ordinance and except in the case of Go- vernment servants, a charge of $2 is made for a certificate of vaccination.
(c) A charge of $.50 is made for a certificate of inoculation, except
in the case of Government servants,
A charge of $5.00 per drum is male for sterilization of sheets, gowns, etc., for ergency, operations for ships.
