There is no Chapel but Religious services are formed in the Central Transept, which is well adapted to the purpose. Misdemeanants take their places in the Wall, whilst Accused sit in the Gallery.
There is no Chaplain attached to the Gaol Department, but the Colonial Chaplain visits the Gaol frequently and performs Divine Service on Wednesdays and a week on Thursdays.

Whipping is awarded by the Chief Justice and Police Magistrates, for robbery with violence, and for the following prison offences: fighting, stealing, having prohibited articles in possession, attempting to escape, and malingering.
There is one insane person in the Gaol.
Roman Catholic Priests and Dissenting Ministers are freely allowed access to the Prisoners, with the proviso that they do not interfere with the Gaol discipline. Roman Catholic Priest invariably attends his co-religionists on Sunday.
The Colonial Surgeon visits the Gaol every morning and oftener if required. There is a Hospital with separate apartments.
Ulcer, Remittent Fever, Dysentery, and Debility are the most prevalent.
No fees are demanded in the Establishment for admission or discharge.
All prisoners are amply employed except those certified sick by the Doctor.
