During the past year this establishment the Governor ordered a return to be made by the Colonial Surgeon of all the cases of all the deaths previous to the... of the prisoners from the Establishment of Store, Cutter, Inland, and that officer's report was considered satisfactory.
The allowance of food for the prisoners is regulated by the former in conjunction with the advice of the Colonial Surgeon; a European Officer is on duty in the cook house for the purpose of weighing and attending to the necessary details of distribution, and each prisoner has his allowance of food separate. Tenders for the supply of provisions and articles are invited by advertisement in the local Newspapers, and after which they are opened by the Colonial Secretary.
