MEASURES

English Standard Measures are employed in the Colony and also the following Chinese ones.

Of Length

According to the measure established by the Tariff:

  • 1 Chi = 14.1 English inches = 3/12 yards.
  • 1 Tsun = 1.414 English inches (or 14 English Inch / 10)
  • Uhlong = Four yards
  • Uchek or bovid Uchek = About 14 English Inch
  • 1 Tsun = 10 Fun
  • 1 Fun = 10 Lip (or Line)
  • 1 Lip = 10 Jun (or Jun is also referred to as a smaller unit related to "Line" or "Lip")
