Mr Cleverly was Acting Surveyor General from the beginning of the year to the 13th July, when the Surveyor General, Mr. Gordon returned to the Colony Mr. Cleverly then served as Assistant Surveyor General on a

Salary of £500 per annum, and on the resignation of Mr. Gordon, on 28th November was appointed Surveyor General in his stead, on the full salary of the Office.
