On the 19th November, the Office of Auditor General was annexed to that of Colonial Secretary, and this Officer was consequently relieved of his duty, which devolved by appointment on Major Caine. Mr Shelley however was permitted to receive his Salary up to the 31st December. Duty of Clerk of Council performed by Chief Clerk in Colonial Office.
