For the financial year April 1941 to March 1942, the worsening of the war situation meant that even departmental reports could not be written. We do, however, have the draft estimates for that year, and these are again to be found in the Colonial Office files at the Public Record Office. The file references are as follows:

No further administration reports or financial estimates were prepared until August 1945. In that month began a period of British Military Administration which lasted until April 1946 when civilian government was restored. The Military Administration produced its administration report, and from 1946 onwards the normal annual report has been produced. We hope to reproduce all these in future volumes.
