(3) Scholarships.
The following Scholarships are available:--
NAME OF SCHOLARSHIP.
1. King Edward VII Scholarships.
CONDITIONS.
VALUE.
£40 per annum for four years if held in the Arts or Engineering faculties and for six years if held in the faculty of Medicine. For the purpose of payment of University Fees the scholarships shall until further notice be regarded as of the value of $400 per annum.
Scholarships available at the University of Hong Kong. One or more scholarships may be awarded each year, to British subjects only who are under twenty-one years of age on 1st July in the year in which the Examination is held. The Scholarships are awarded on the results of the Matriculation Examination of the University of Hong Kong. The scholarships are open to all pupils taking the examination.
2. Donor Scholarships.
Nominated by subscribers of $50,000 to the Endowment Fund of the University of Hong Kong. Nominees must be persons who have qualified for admission to the University.
Exemption from all University Tuition Fees.
3. Sir Paul Chater Memorial Scholarship.
Awarded to any pupil of a school in Hong Kong either of whose parents have resided in Hong Kong for a period of ten years at the time of the award of the scholarship. Awarded on the results of the Examination prescribed for admission to the University.
$800 per annum for four years.
4. Ignes Soares Scholarship.
Tenable by Portuguese students from Hong Kong and Macao, and awarded on the results of the Matriculation Examination of the Hong Kong University. Candidates must be under eighteen years of age on the date at which the Examination is held. Tenable for five or six years at the discretion of the Trustees.
$40 for the first year, $70 for the second year.
5. Belilios Medical Scholarships.
One awarded annually on the results of the examination prescribed for admission to the University of Hong Kong, and tenable in the Faculty of Medicine of the University.
