REPORT OF THE CHIEF OFFICER, HONG KONG FIRE BRIGADE

FOR THE YEAR 1938,

EXPENDITURE AND REVENUE.

The expenditure of the Fire Brigade for the year 1938 was $400,269.05 (£24,599, 17s. 4d.) including special expenditure amounting to $105,647.86 (£6,492, 18s. 10d.) as against $328,892.50 (£20,555, 15s. 8d.) including special expenditure amounting to $37,404.32 (£2,337, 15s. 5d.) in 1937.

2. The revenue of the Brigade for the year amounted to $12,572.50 (£772, 13s. 8d.) derived from the following sources:

Motor Ambulance Service $11,868.50 (£729, 8s. 4d.) as against $10,700.00 (£668, 15s. 0d.) for 1937, an increase of 10.9%.

Theatre and Special duties $704.00 (£43, 5s. 4d.) as against $708.00 (£44, 5s. 0d.) for 1937, a decrease of 0.57%.

The undermentioned table shows the revenue of the Brigade for the past five years.
