REMAND HOME FOR JUVENILE OFFENDERS (Girls).

1. 355 girls juvenile offenders were admitted to the Home during the year for the following offences:

Hawking 263 Mendicancy 28 In Possession of Opium & Heroin Pills 5 In Possession of Dutiable Tobacco 3 In Possession of Dutiable Liquor 12 Breach of Forestry Regulations 6 Larceny 1 Coining Offence 2 Destitute & Wandering 14 Enquiries 4 In Possession of Dangerous Drugs 1 Receiving Stolen Money 1 Polluting Public Drinking Water 1 Removing Pig-Wash during Prohibited Hours 3 Soliciting for Immoral Purposes 1 Removing Night Soil during Prohibited Hours 1 Trespassing 1 Attempted Suicide 1 Total 355

2. Of this number, 24 were dealt with as adults, 4 transferred to the Salvation Army Home and 69 were ordered Detention by the Magistrate for the following offences:
