11. Extensions on leases.-There were three extensions on leases during the year involving a total area of 313,227 square feet and deriving a total premium of $41,544.32, of which $41,394.32 was from a renewal for a further period of 75 years from the 25th June, 1936 of the lease of R.B.L. No. 32, an area of 310,227 square feet.
12. Piers.-(a) Permanent.—In Hong Kong, an extension of 58 square feet to Permanent Pier No. 12 was granted to the Osaka Shosen Kaisha.
(b) Temporary.-Licences to erect two piers in Hong Kong were issued during the year with fees amounting to $11,012.00.
13. Re-entries.-Forty-one lots in Hong Kong (two of which were cancelled), twelve lots in Kowloon (one of which was cancelled), four lots in New Kowloon, forty-two lots in the Southern District (New Territories) and two hundred and ten lots in the Northern District (New Territories) were re-entered during the year.
14. Permits to occupy land for short periods.-These were of a very miscellaneous character and too numerous to admit of individual attention. (a) The total amount of fees collected during the year was $214,624.49. New permits issued during the year totalled 624 and 354 were cancelled for various reasons, the total number of permits in force during the year being 5,258. (b) The total amount of fees collected during the year in the New Territories was $2,527.33, being $437.50 for permits in the Southern District and $1,238.51 for yearly, $725.42 for five yearly, $62.90 for ten yearly, and $63.00 for twenty-one yearly permits in the Northern District.
15. Prospecting and Mining Licences.-There were no new Prospecting and Mining Licences issued during the year and no renewals.
16. Naval and Military Lands. Memorandum of Transfer of an area totalling 5,900 square feet on Garden Road (Portion of War Department Lot No. 4) was completed on the 12th June, 1936 and the sum of $206,500.00 was credited to the War Department by Government and a Memorandum of Transfer of an area of 10.05 acres at Lo Wu (now known as W.D. Lots Nos. 36, 37 and 38) was completed on the 18th November, 1936 and the sum of $1,196.59 was credited to the Colonial Government by the War Department.
