4. Land Sales, Extensions, Grants, etc. The total amount of premia paid into the Treasury during the year was $309,003.78 of which $37,630.85 was derived from fees for survey and boundary stones. The estimates for the year were $302,000.00 for Premia on new leases and $25,000.00 for Boundary stones and Survey Fees. Table A gives a comparative statement and Table B gives a graph of the revenue derived from Land Sales, etc., for the years 1927-1936.
5. Sales by Public Auction.-These are included in Table A at the end of this Report. The principal one involved the sales in Hong Kong of two areas, one of 5,000 square feet to the Standard-Vacuum Oil Company which realised a premium of $75,000.00 and one of 21,600 square feet to Mrs. Li Po Lun which realized the sum of $12,200.00.
An area in Kowloon known as K.I.L. 3637 was sold realising a premium of $108,100.00. The purchaser failed to pay the premium and this transaction was considered as closed. This lot will be put up for auction again in the near future.
