An automatic rain gauge was also purchased through the Crown Agents from Messrs. Negritti and Zambra at a cost of £20-0-0. It was installed in a small brick house at a suitable point in the catchment area of the Pottinger Peak Catchwater.
Both instruments arrived from England in October and were installed by the end of the year.

225. Erection of Hangar for Civil Aviation:-This work was referred to in paragraph 218 of last year's Report. The Hangar, together with offices, workshop annexe and administration annexe, was completed in January at a total cost of $347,000.00.
226. Construction of Fuel and Oil Store:-Approval for this work was obtained on 4th May, 1936. A contract for the construction of a store 88' x 39' comprising five lock-up garages and offices was let to Messrs. Ah Hing and Co. on 19th June, 1936. The work was completed at the end of November.
227. Formation of "Flight Gap" North of Sai Kung Road-This work was referred to in paragraph 219 of last year's Report. The contract works were completed but at the end of the year, the reconstruction of a 50 feet length of nullah bridging which was found to be defective was in hand. In connection with the work it was necessary to resume small areas of agricultural land.
