208. Demolition of Field Cottage, Kai Tak:-Demolition was commenced in January and completed in March. A credit of $850.00 was received for old materials.

Construction of a nullah training at Shek Kong :— (a) The first section of a Diversion Nullah at Pat Heung :— This work, for which a contract was let on the 21st March, 1936, was commenced on the 13th June of the year. The excavation up to the end of the year was approximately 51,500 cubic yards. The amount of concrete placed in wall foundations, walls and invert was 2,000 cubic yards.

(b) Diversion Channel and Temporary Dam:-Under the above contract, this work was commenced on the 25th November, 1936. Excavation work on the diversion channel was nearly completed and a start was made on the concrete lining for the channel.

212. Road to Shek Lai Pui Filter:-The work of constructing this short length of road was satisfactorily completed in February. The cost was covered by payment into a separate account.

213. Road leading to Shatin Pass-The work of improving bends and providing passing places was put in hand in February and satisfactorily completed by the end of March. The cost was covered by payment into a separate account.

214. A large number of street and paving works on both public and private streets were carried out on payment for individuals and companies.
