Major repairs included the following:- Kowloon Fire Station - repairs to decks of Drill Tower, Tsim Sha Tsui Police Station - overhauled gas supply, Royal Observatory - overhauled mast fittings, Blackhead Signal Station - repair to riggings, renewed symbols, Green Island Signal Station - renewed mast stays and surface paths, Green Island Gun-powder Depôt - renewed joinery, Green Island Police Station - renewed joinery, Police Training School - renewed floors, Kowloon Disinfecting Station - rebuilt kitchen and repaired screens, Reclamation Street Market - renewed roofing, Fa Yuen Market - surfaced yard, Hung Hom Electrical Workshop - re-surfaced verandah.
Repairs due to white ant damage were executed to the following buildings:- Police Training School, Green Island Depôt, Ma Tau Kok Depôt, Kowloon Hospital, Hung Hom Police Station.
The electrical installations were maintained in good order; 564 fans and eighty-one radiators were cleaned and overhauled; 114 fan motors were rewound and eleven radiators were fitted with new elements. Additions and alterations to thirty-five points were carried out in nine buildings; 755 points in twenty-seven buildings were tested and eighteen inventories of electrical fittings issued. On the premises of the Kowloon-Canton Railway British Section, the electrical installations in Tsim Sha Tsui Station, Offices and European Quarters were maintained in good order.

Improvements to Buildings: The principal improvements carried out under this heading were as follows: Kowloon Hospital - grilles to Sisters Quarters, alteration to kitchen and concrete stairs to "B" block, Kowloon Junior School - roofing to covered way, Hung Hom Oil Store - concrete surfacing, Kung Yam Temple - renovations, Green Island Depôt - inspection boxes. Electrical improvements and additions were carried out in five buildings.

75. Roads and Bridges (Maintenance and Improvements):- The surface of approximately fifty-three miles of roads was maintained in a satisfactory manner. Particulars of the additional areas laid with improved surfacing were:-
