In addition to these, the Taikoo Dockyard and Engineering Co. of Hong Kong provide ten lamps, each having a cluster of three 100 C.P. incandescent lamps for lighting the road adjacent to their property. During the year forty-seven gaseous discharge lamps 400 watts were erected on the New King's Road.
An arrangement, similar to that made with the Hong Kong and China Gas Co. for the extinguishing at midnight of a number of 305 lamps was made with the Hong Kong Electric Co.; the following were the roads affected:—Bowen Road, Brewin Path, Clovelly Path, Harlech Road, Homestead Path, Lugard Road, Magazine Gap Road, Mount Cameron Road, Middle Gap Road, Mount Davis Road, Pokfulum Road, Sassoon Road; Stubbs Road and Wanchai Gap. A further eighteen lamps in Tregunter Path were extinguished at 2 a.m.
Traffic lanterns and beacon lights were maintained in good order.

59. Typhoon and Rainstorm Damages: -Repairs of varying magnitude were made to practically all Government buildings. Minor landslides were common and entailed a considerable amount of excavation and trimming to prevent recurrences. Repairs were required to the 18" cross harbour pipe which was fractured near Queen's Pier. Sand, silt and boulders were removed from nullahs, culverts and channels. Damages were made good to various septic tanks, nullah walls and inverts, and sewer outfalls.
Repairs were also carried out to the following piers: Aberdeen, Blake, French Street, Green Island, Harbour Office, King Shan, Murray, Queen Victoria Street, Sai Wan Ho and Wilmer Street. The pitching to the sea-wall in the vicinity of the Gunpowder Depôt at Green Island and the searching sheds on the following piers: -Hing Kee, Luen Chong, Po Tak, Tai Hing, Tung On and West Market were damaged. Damages to electric lights and wiring at Government Stone Quarry, Kennedy Town Slaughter House, Hong Kong Volunteer Headquarters, Peak Wireless Station, Government House, Aberdeen Police Station, and Bowen Road Filter Beds were made good. Telephone poles and lines on the island of Hong Kong also required replacement or repair.
