VALUATIONS AND RESUMPTIONS.

45. The total valuations made comprised 677 hereditaments with a total estimated value of $11,192,768.88.

48. Schemes in connection with the following developments were prepared:-King George V Memorial Parks, Arsenal Yard Layout, a traffic layout at the Lower Peak Tram Station, a scheme for the development of a public bathing beach at Island Bay, a residential development of the foothills to the north of Cheung Sha Wan and a comprehensive town planning of Tsun Wan Village area.

EXPENDITURE.

49. The expenditure on Public Works has increased considerably during the last three decades. The average annual expenditure during the years 1907 to 1916 was $2,095,096, from 1917 to 1926 it was $6,036,180, whilst from 1927 to 1936 the average annual expenditure has been $8,458,055.

50. Tables I, II and III at the end of this Report give various comparative statements of expenditure.
