15. Rabies:-
During the year 317 dogs, 6 monkeys and 9 cats were placed under observation on account of being suspected of being rabid. They were disposed of as follows:-

Dogs. Monkeys. Cats. Returned to owner 256 5 6 Died 11 1 Destroyed 40 2 Sent to S.P.C.A. Dog's Home 1 Remaining under observation 10

One isolated case of Rabies occurred in the New Territory in the summer.

16. Seventeen animal brains were examined by the Government Bacteriologist for evidence of Rabies with one positive result.
