11. The above does not include animals imported for slaughter or consigned to the Military Authorities.
12. Imported horses and mules unless accompanied by a satisfactory "Mallein Certificate" are detained until they have passed the "Mallein Test".
13. Other animals are quarantined for varying periods according to their place of origin.

15. Rabies:-
During the year 317 dogs, 6 monkeys and 9 cats were placed under observation on account of being suspected of being rabid. They were disposed of as follows:-
One isolated case of Rabies occurred in the New Territory in the summer.
16. Seventeen animal brains were examined by the Government Bacteriologist for evidence of Rabies with one positive result.
