Remarks

Two buildings, each of three floors covering an area of about 50 x 30 ft. (used as shops and dwellings) and contents severely damaged by fire, heat, smoke and water, and collapse of part of roof of No. 31 (adjoining and com- municating).

Two buildings, each of three floors covering an area of about 45 x 30 ft. and contents severely damaged by fire, heat, smoke and water (adjoining and communicating.)

A range of twenty-two buildings of one and two floors covering an area of about 200 x 150 ft. (used as shops, stores and dwelling) and contents severely damaged by fire, heat, smoke and water and collapse.

Eight shed buildings (used as saw-mills, workshops, stores and dwellings) and contents, and four timber yards covering an area of about 250 x 125 ft. and contents severely damaged by fire and mostly fallen down (all adjoining).

Of the premises involved in 158 actual fires which occurred, 42 were insured and 116 were not insured.
