141. Furniture Workshop and Store:-This work was referred to in paragraph 111 of last year's Report. The contract was completed satisfactorily on the 22nd March and the building handed over to the Superintendent, Accounts and Stores.

142. Temporary Fire Station, Shamshuipo:-This work was referred to in paragraphs 151 and 203 of last year's Report. The work having been completed in 1934, nothing remained to be done during 1935 but the payment of the retention money.

143. Quarters for Gardeners at Kowloon Hospital:-The work consisted of an addition to the Entrance Lodge to house gardeners for the Hospital grounds. It was decided, however, for the sake of economy that this addition should also accommodate gardeners for the Central British School and so do away with the necessity of building separate quarters. This addition provides a dormitory for sixteen men, a mess room, kitchen, bathroom with W.Cs. and urinal, and a store. A contract was let to Messrs. Chung Lee & Co. on the 30th September and was completed satisfactorily on the 14th December and handed over to the Botanical and Forestry Department.

144. Roads:-Work completed under this head included kerbing and channelling and paving in granolithic or slabs of footpaths where this was required either by reason of building development or replacement.

145. Drainage:-(a) Training Nullahs: Parapet walling was constructed at Waterloo Road nullah opposite Dundas Street for a length of 179 feet.

(b) Miscellaneous Drainage Works:-New sewers and storm water drains were constructed to a length of 2,788 feet, varying in diameter from 87″ to 6″. One wall was extended for a length of 580 feet at Sung Wong Toi nullah. Several short sections of parapet walling were constructed.
