186. Dredging:-The contractor's dredger commenced work off Kowloon Point on the 19th June. Up till the end of the year, 331,833 cubic yards of material were dredged on Admiralty account, 49,222 cubic yards for the Hong Kong Wharf and Godown Co. and 324,306 cubic yards for Government, West of Kowloon Peninsula. In addition, 37,185 cubic yards of material were dredged at Kun Tong. The total dredged during the year amounted to 742,546 cubic yards.

PUBLIC HEALTH AND BUILDINGS ORDINANCE,
Compensation and Resumptions:-Twenty-nine resumptions were carried out to permit development under the Town Planning Scheme. The erection of a block of six houses to reprovision certain inhabitants of Kowloon Walled City was put in hand and nearly completed.

188. Government Bungalow at Fanling:-This work was referred to in paragraph 197 of last year's Report. The contract for the house and also that for the Garage, Stables and Guard House proceeded satisfactorily during the year, the former being completed on 6th April and the latter one week later.
