134. Shed for Fire Appliances, Aplichau:- This work consisted of the erection of a small brick shed to house a fire appliance. A contract let to Messrs. Hop Cheong & Co. on the 3rd July was completed satisfactorily on the 3rd September.

135. Three Stores for Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps: This work consisted of the erection of additional Stores at Volunteer Headquarters. A contract let to Messrs. Kin Lee & Co. on the 5th June was completed satisfactorily on the 30th July.

136. Back Lane Service Pipes:- 274 feet of 2″ wrought iron pipe were laid as subsidiary mains in back lanes and fifty-two houses were connected to these and existing subsidiary mains.

New Principal Mains in City:- The following work was carried out under this head:- 432 feet of 12″ cast iron pipe were laid in Queen's Road West from Whitty Street to Hill Road, 832 feet of 10″ cast iron pipe were laid in Queen's Road West from Hill Road to Belcher's Street, 1,084 feet of 10″ cast iron pipe were laid in Hill Road from Queen's Road West to Pokfulum Road Pumping Station, 410 feet of 10″ cast iron pipe were laid in Wellington Street from Zetland Street to D'Aguilar Street, 484 feet of 8″ cast iron pipe were laid in Wellington Street from D'Aguilar Street to Pottinger Street. 82 feet of 8″ cast iron pipe were laid in Belcher's Street at Queen's Road West, 480 feet of 6″ cast iron pipe were laid in Wellington Street from Pottinger Street to Graham Street. 888 feet of 6″ cast iron pipe were laid in Connaught Road Central from Jubilee Street to Harbour Office, 2,238 feet of 6″ cast iron pipe were laid in the new road from Island Road to Stanley Police Station, 192 feet of 6″ cast iron pipe were laid in Ice House Street between Queen's Road and Des Vœux Road, 112 feet of 6″ cast iron pipe were laid in Fortress Hill Road, North Point, 1,030 feet of 5″ cast iron pipe were laid in Forbes Street and Cadogan Street and 45 feet of 3″ cast iron pipe were laid in Davis Street at Forbes Street.
