127. Colonial Cemetery-Laying out new areas.-Additional burial areas were formed and an unclimbable fence was erected. An entrance off Stubbs Road was provided to give access to the upper levels of the Cemetery.

128. Reinstatement of Government Retaining Walls:-A periodical inspection on all retaining walls was carried out. The walls were found to be in good condition except those at May Road and Magazine Gap Road which were re-built under the contract for widening of Magazine Gap Road.

129. Traffic White Lines, Studs and Motor Signs, etc.:-For motor traffic purposes the painting of white lines and the laying of aluminium studs on public highways was carried out during the year.

130. Garage at Arbuthnot Road:-The work consisted of an addition to the existing garage at Arbuthnot Road for the Prison Department. A contract let to Messrs. Kin Lee & Co. on the 23rd August was completed satisfactorily on the 22nd October.

Rewiring of Government Buildings:-The following twenty-six buildings were rewired for fans and lights, (Total number of points-1,531):-Public Works Department, Annex, Kennedy Town Hospital and Quarters, Kennedy Town Slaughter House Inspectors Quarters, No. 463 The Peak. Buildings at Eastern Filter Beds, Eastern Sanitary Department and Quarters, Wanchai Post Office, No. 82 Caine Road Police Quarters. Subordinate Officers Quarters Wongneichong, and Nos. 9 to 14 Senior Officers Quarters Leighton Hill.

132. Telephone Cable to Shaukiwan:-Work on laying this cable was commenced towards the end of the year and good progress was made.

133. Shed for Fire Appliances, Aberdeen:-This work was not proceeded with as it was found that owing to alterations which were required at the Harbour Office at Aberdeen accommodation for the appliances could be provided in that building.
