89. Maintenance of Praya Walls and Piers:-The Sea-walls and Piers were maintained in a satisfactory condition. In addition to repairs to various parts of the sea walls, the Kowloon City, Shamshuipo and the refuse boat piers were repaired. Portion of the footing of the Dock walls at Lai Chi Kok Water Boat Dock were found to be undermined, this was repaired by concrete bag work.

92. Maintenance of Buildings :-Government Buildings were kept in a good state of repair. Painting, colourwashing and repairs in accordance with the recurring programme were carried out to seventeen buildings. Major repairs included the following: Tsun Wan Police Station-extension to paths, Po Chu Tam Police Station-general repairs, Fanling Lodge-alterations and conditions and erected incinerator, Taipo School-new partitions, Sai Kung Police Station-general repairs and cement surface to yard, Lo Fu Blockhouse-renovation and repairs, Sha Tau Kok Military Hut-renovation and repairs, Ping Shan Police Station-grilles to cells, Au Tau Police Station-grilles to cells, Castle Peak Police Station-extended entanglement fence, Sheung Shui Police Station-repairs to paths and surfacing, Taipo Police Station-renewed pathways and surfacing, Taipo Dispensary-fixed Bostwick gates and grilles, Rennies Mills-extensive glass replacements, Tau Kok Police Station-renewed flag mast and yard arm.
